Planbet’s banking still feels undercooked for Nigeria. The cashier works, and our own withdrawals went through without issues, but the setup is clearly better suited to international e-wallet users and crypto players than to bettors who expect familiar local payment options. PalmPay and OPay would make a big difference here. For now, the 16,000 NGN minimum for both deposits and withdrawals is also much higher than I would like.
Deposits
The fiat deposit side is limited to Neteller, Skrill 1-Tap and Skrill. That is enough if you already use international e-wallets, but it is not strong localisation for Nigerian punters. Crypto is where Planbet has far more depth. There are 20+ cryptocurrency deposit methods, covering coins such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, TRON, Dogecoin, XRP, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash, as well as stablecoins across several networks.
Tether and USD Coin, for example, can be used over different chains including Ethereum, BSC, Solana, TRON and Optimism. That flexibility is useful, but only if you are comfortable choosing the correct network. Sending funds over the wrong chain is not the sort of mistake you want to discover after confirming a transaction.
The minimum deposit starts from 16,000 NGN, which is hefty. It makes Planbet a poor choice for someone who likes to test a bookmaker with a small first payment. I would only fund the account once I was already comfortable with the sportsbook and intended to use it properly.
Withdrawals
Withdrawals are available through Neteller and Skrill, along with a broad range of cryptocurrencies. Skrill 1-Tap is available for deposits, but not as a withdrawal method. Planbet processes withdrawal requests 24/7. Our own cash-outs went through without any issues, with a total of 50,000 NGN withdrawn. That is encouraging, although it should not be treated as a guaranteed turnaround for every account.
The minimum withdrawal is also 16,000 NGN, and that is arguably the more annoying figure. If you finish with a smaller balance, you cannot simply cash out a few thousand naira and move on.
Planbet expects withdrawals to go back through the same payment details used for deposits. If several methods were used to fund the account, withdrawals should be proportionate to the amount deposited through each one. The company can also refuse a withdrawal through a particular payment system and offer bank transfer instead.
Betting Before Withdrawal
Your Planbet account isn’t to move money between payment services. Before withdrawing, the total value of qualifying bets must add up to the amount deposited, and those bets must be placed at odds of at least 1.10. Betting patterns that have little genuine effect on the balance can be disregarded, including opposite-outcome play in games such as Roulette, Baccarat, Craps and Dice.
That means depositing 50,000 NGN and immediately asking for 50,000 NGN back is not the intended use of the cashier. The money needs to see genuine betting action first.
Planbet Fees
Bitcoin carries a service charge when funds are deposited or withdrawn through the Bitcoin payment system. The exact amount varies, so that needs checking before confirming the transaction. Planbet may also decide in certain cases not to reimburse charges imposed by payment systems on deposits or withdrawals.
Banking Verdict
I would only choose Planbet for regular use if I already bank through Skrill, Neteller or crypto. For the typical Nigerian punter, the cashier asks for too much adaptation before it becomes convenient. PalmPay and OPay would change that immediately. Until they arrive, Planbet is better treated as a bookmaker for players already comfortable with international or crypto payments, not as a first-choice local betting account.
